James Ritchie has been in the HVAC industry since 1985. He started as an installation assistant, but after only 8 months he had been promoted to lead installer. In his third year he started learning the service side of the industry and graduated into a seasoned service technician. In 1995 James was one of the first to be certified as an IGSHPA Installer and service technician. (International Ground Source Heat Pump Association).  Over the course of James’ career, he learned all departments of the HVAC industry such as: installer, service technician, operations manager, project manager, and finally business owner.

In June of 2007 James and his wife Laura opened Five Star Heating and Cooling in Charlotte, North Carolina. James ran the operations of the company and Laura focused on the office to ensure all their customers were taken care of. The company grew quickly and in 2013 James and Laura were approached by another heating and air contractor to purchase their company. They decided to sell as Laura wanted to be closer to her family and they relocated to Austin, Texas.

James immediately went to work for a large Commercial HVAC company based out of Dallas and took the position of General Manager. He was also the Co-Chair for the Ambassador program for the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce. After four years he moved to another company and was the Commercial and Residential Sales Manager.

In 2021 James decided that he missed being an entrepreneur and opened Phoenix Air, LLC. Customer-service oriented and ambitious, James strives to make Phoenix Air, LLC the best HVAC company in the Central Texas Area.
